8 months!

How do the weeks pass so quickly that our baby girl is another month old? Time flies so fast, especially that Mommy is home everyday! No teeth so far, and no crawling but Macie continues to be load of fun!!! This month Macie experienced her first birthday party (see summer entry) for her friend Lucy and Zac! She enjoyed splish splashing in the pool with her other friends!

Developmentally, she has begun to grab things and bangs things together! She also began to wave bye bye this month and the cutest hand waving at herself! During "developmental time" each day, she loves to go to her bookshelf and pick books herself to read. Her favorite books have texture, this child is obsessed with scratching her fingernails on everything textured! Her favorite book is "Feely bugs" especially the crinkle and feathery bugs! :)

This month also began the official battle with the Yeast Beast! More on that in the next update. Let's just say that Mommy and Macie have passed a yeast infection back and forth for weeks! UGH! :(

Here's a sampling of Mommy and Macie's daily schedule.

Wake up early nurse, cuddle and go back to sleep
Play
Developmental time with Mommy
Nap/Mommy cleans etc. Go in exersaucer while Mommy works out
Eat solid food
Play with Daddy!
Take bath Daddy reads Bible Go "nigh nigh"

***This month was ESPECIALLY fun because right before she turned 8 months we went to California! This is a different entry, but what fun it was to visit Aunt Holly, Aiden, Uncle Clint and see the Grandparents in Carlsbad and go to the beach!!! Also, Grammy came to visit for a few days before we left! It was so much fun to play with Grammy and Mommy enjoyed the break! div>

Hi Mommy!  Little hippie girl :)

We always say "Macie, did you toot in your panties?"  Sorry for my annoying voice! :)

She was shaking her head "no no no" when Mommy said "Cookies aren't for Daddy, they're for Santa" (from a onesie) again, sorry for my annoying voice!  I get a little whacky all day with her!

Mommy was doing stuff in the bathroom and Macie was destroying it!  One of my fave videos!

Silly saucer girl!

We started baby signing this month and Macie is doing great!  She can sign milk, more, and please! :)  This is te beginnings when she signs milk for "more" and "more" to eat. :)

Sweet little roly poly girl!

7 months!

With 7 months we experience more independence. This month Mommy realizes that her child is WIGGLY. We always joked that since Lee was such a hyper child (rocking on his horse at 3 in the morning at age 2---ask his mama Gail!) we'd get payback! We think its true!!! Mommy wishes at this point that she'd cherished the cuddles she got and begins to think back to the newborn stage when Macie always wanted to be held! Those days are over! Macie grabs anything and everything she can, and is constantly on her tummy and moves more and more towards crawling. Her favorite new position is the plank! She has figured out how to go from plank to knees bent, but when she moves and arm forward, she experiences a subsequent "face plant" much to her dismay. Her vocalizations continue to be more varied, and she has begun the sweetest little whisper! Mommy loves it! Macie had so many new experiences this months as the temperatures begin to cool and we've been able to be outside more! She LOVES her little swimming pool and her little rubber duckies! This month we celebrated Mommy leaving her job and being home with Macie everyday. More playdates ensue and our social butterfly continues to blossom. She fusses when you take away toys, and cries "Ma Ma Ma" when upset and "Da da da" for fun! Of course she reaches for anything that is a no no, including paper, plastic and cords. :) What else do babies do???? Again, more videos and pictures of our growing baby girl!

Silly jabbery girl!

6 months!

It has probably become quite obvious to you that I have not been blogging very often. Due to computers crashing, SLOW internet connections, blog changes which result in HOURS upon HOURS to finish ONE new post, I have been missing in action. Now, my attempt to update the past few months of Macie's life. I am blessed by my friend Vickie, who created a calendar to list noteworthy events and developments, so I would not forget them for her scrapbooks and this blog. At her 6 month checkup Macie weighed 15 pounds 8 ounces and was 25.5 inches long! That equates to 50th percentile in length, and 40th in length. She has more than made up for her petite birth weight! Where do I begin on the advancements! 6 months brought a much more independent and sometimes fussy baby girl! We're convinced with the increased drooling and chewing that our sweet girl was finally getting teeth. However, we were wrong! With increased independence, there was increased frustration. Macie has begun to sit up supported, and spend much more time on her tummy, up on her knees, but not yet crawling. Putting her down for the night has always been easy, but lately she has begun to play in her crib, when she used to fall asleep before we even put her down. Macie loves books, during the day she turns the pages, and at night listens intently as Daddy reads to her. Her babbles continue and are more elaborate as they change in pitch and tone. The Da da das, sighs, and bah bah bahs range from high to low and she squeals and giggles more easily. As she sits in her bumbo, she enjoys dropping toys on the floor to watch Mommy and Daddy retrieve them. She especially enjoys playing with measuring cups and spoons while mommy cooks. This month she enjoyed visits from cousin Kerry bear and had a blast shopping at the Coach Outlet and Tiffany and Company. She was such a trooper to shop till she dropped with Kerry and Mommy. Uncle Kevin and Tyler came to visit and what fun it was to giggle with Tyler while she danced and sang. Our little girl is growing up and 6 months is an age that seemed so far away but was eagerly anticipated. I remember people saying that 6 months was the golden age and that was when it really gets fun. Well, we agree. Here are some photos and videos of our sweet girl...Thanks for your patience with all of them! I finally got my act together to organize hundreds of photos and videos compiled from 3 cameras and my cell phone! Here are our favorites!
